Kaimuki Shokudo is a soba and izakaya restaurant on 11th Avenue in Kaimukī. After years of running Shokudo Japanese Restaurant and Bar on Kapiʻolani Boulevard, the team opened this spot to bring the same Shokudo hospitality to a new concept built around fresh soba and other Japanese specialties.
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner every day, with dinner running late on Friday and Saturday nights. Its recent posts have featured kamameshi, Japanese rice cooked with flavorful ingredients, and a Pumpkin Crunch Honey Toast as an October special.
For Honolulu Restaurant Week, Nov. 7–15, Kaimuki Shokudo offers a $22 lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s a teishoku set with miso soup, fresh tofu salad, a mini kakuni fried rice or mini chirashi don, misoyaki salmon or teriyaki kanpachi, and a choice of hamachi, salmon or ahi sashimi. Restaurant Week menus are dine-in only.
